Malibu Village Books November Newsletter
V4 - Halloween is over but the Santa Ana's are still howling...
Happy November Malibu!
Thank you to everyone who came out to Trick or Treat at the Bookstore with us & who joined us for our Halloween Extravaganza! It was 2 days of fun! We loved seeing all the groups who took up the Bingo scavenger hunt competition & all the scary story zines that you wrote & illustrated - not to mention the costumes!!! We saw Pynchon, Edgar Allan Poe, a purple witch, Paddington, dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes, a bedazzled scream & so many more.
October was wonderful & November will be brilliant, as we have SO many events & more coming your way (so scroll all the way to the bottom and don’t forget to check our Substack or Instagram often for updates and new things).
This month we are celebrating Indigenous Heritage voices + stories & the classic thankfulness of the fall/Thanksgiving moment. In honor of this month, I want to leave you with this thought: No matter how hard the winds blow, no matter how bleak the darker nights can feel - there is always a book, a story out there waiting to be read. A story to weighten & then lighten, a story to crack that smile & then break into a giggle, a story to question & then to courage…there are stories & I am thankful.
~Michelle~
