V8 - And just like that...it feels like Summer...
Happy Friday Malibu,
Have you been enjoying the blue skies and warm vibes? Are you feeling hope on the horizon? We are always trying to stay optimistic & how could we not with all these amazing books coming out over the last several weeks?! Note: if you haven’t yet jumped on the “My Friends” wagon by Fredrik Backman…oh, I HIGHLY recommend it. I think it’ll be my favorite book of the year.
April was a big month with the news outlets, did you see us on NBC or ABC? A HUGE Thank You to all our community members who said beautiful and kind words of support and gave love for Malibu Village Books. Thank YOU!
I also wanted to say Thank You! to all those who participated in our Community Survey during Feb & March. You offered so many wonderful thoughts and ideas that we are still combing through, thank you! We can’t wait to start bringing your ideas to life…we are hoping late summer/early fall for announcements on new programs + events.

Some old favorites making a comeback, new releases flying off the shelves, and a few local gems making their way into beach bags! The Boys & Girls Club of Malibu’s Disaster Relief Center has updated their hours to Wed-Fri 10am to 5pm
By the end of May, PCH will be open to the public as USACE, Caltrans, and Governor Newsom work as efficiently as possible to open up one lane on each side.
Trancas Summer Nights are returning to Malibu starting May 23rd! Visit Trancas Country Mart Fridays from 6-9pm for live music and community gathering!
Calling all poets! The City of Malibu is now accepting applications for the 2025-2027 Malibu Poet Laureate until May 18th.
The City of Malibu will be holding Community Emergency Response Training from 6pm to 9pm Tuesdays (May 6, 13, 20), Thursdays (May 8, 15, 22), and Saturday May 24th at City Hall.
